Slicing and dicing audio

This is our specialty.  Audio editing is as much an art as it is a science. It takes years of experience and a great "ear" to fix, change or build audio sound tracks.  Anyone with a computer can delete things, but you have to know (and hear) things like pacing, energy, flow and style for it to sound natural and right.

Editing is done after your material is transferred to digital on a high-end computer, although we can (and occasionally still) wack things with a razor blade and splicing tape. (Now that's an art!)

We can repair or modify music beds, clean up speeches, edit albums and modify commercials without having to redo everything.  We can lengthen or shorten audio that has to be a precise length - and isn't.  We can add music, remove voice, sweeten the sound and punch up the delivery.

We can tighten up speeches, move things around, make you sound different or make you sound better.

It's fun, labor intensive and the results can be great.

Audio editing on a computer demands different skills than splicing tape. You have to learn to "hear" with your eyes.

If you are starting out - the more you practice, the better you get. Pacing is the one thing most novices have trouble with. This means things like putting two sentences too close together or leaving out breath sounds which add pacing and are normal to hear.
