What's with the Dog?
The Goodie Store

We don't play the typical game of hiding our prices and then trying to talk you into extras you don't want, or more importantly, don't need.  We'll quote you a fair price for your project, but please remember that we can't tell exactly what needs to be done until we see (or hear) what you send us.  Please click here for more information.  Significant changes in the initial quote will be discussed with you before we proceed.  In the spirit of total disclosure, we present our complete price list and how we bill.  There are no surprises in how we do business.

Our business is primarily with the broadcast and entertainment industry so we give significant discounts to individuals. For example, we generally do not charge individuals for the transcoding time to transfer to DVD, which can average 4 hours for a 60 minute video.  Some charges are discounted as much as 25 percent.  Exceptions are emergency work that require other projects to be placed on hold.  Please call us to discuss our services and prices.  We'll do our best to fit within your budget.

Our price list obviously can't cover every possible need so please feel free to e-mail or call us to discuss what you want done. You'll find many things, like audio cassette repair, is done at no charge (except for the cost of the replacement cassette) if done as part of dubbing or restoration work.

We try to do as much pro bono work as we can for non-profits and struggling artists.  We invite you to e-mail us to see if we can assist you or your organization.

Our prices are based on a per item, per hour or negotiated per total project basis. All hourly rates are one hour minimum and after the first hour, fractional hours are billed at a quarter-hour basis and rounded up.

Out of state customers receive an electronic invoice prior to the return shipment of their material.  Payment is made by electronic bank transfer or credit card through PayPal (www.paypal.com)  You do not need a Paypal account to make your payment and there is no cost to you to use this service.  We absorb the PayPal fees.

Hawaii Customers - check or cash. Credit cards payment can also be made through Paypal prior to picking up your finished project. Other arrangements can be made.  Please call us.

Notes:

*** Direct to CD does not include audio
restoration.  What you get is basically
exactly what you would hear if you played
the record or tape.  While we utilize single
pass pop - hiss and crackle filters, this will
not restore damaged recordings or provide
     significant improvement to damaged audio.

$25.00 per hour

**** It’s important to understand that
      our experience is most people
under estimate or do not know the
actual condition of the audio material
they are sending us.  For that
reason neither are they aware of the
work required to repair and restore
it.  While we are pleased to discuss
in advance what you want and offer a
general quote on the work required,
this is based solely on your
      description of the material's
condition and is subject to change
once we see and hear what you
      send.

Please keep in mind that restoring a complete album can be 8 to 12 cuts, each needing time and attention. Because of the expense, most people request only a couple of songs restored from a single album or tape.

Average restoration generally can average 15 minutes per song, plus the time to transfer it to digital and to CD. This could be more depending on the damage to the material and the amount of manual editing that is required.

Audio tapes present a unique problem. Please click here for more information.

A straight copy to CD has no major restoration done although minor level adjustment and pop/crackle removal will be performed.

CD/DVD case graphics means the cover of the album is scanned and reproduced for the CD case. A song list is also produced provided the original material came with one. There is no charge for this.

All completed projects are returned with engineer's notes and a Restoration Report so you know exactly what was done, how long it took and significant problems found in the original material.
